A Message From The Coach

By | Latest News | No Comments

Hi all, welcome to the beginning of a new season with Surfers.

Preseason will commence on Sunday the 6th of August at 9am, and continue on every Sunday and Thursday throughout August. As of September we will revert to Thursday’s like last season.

Preseason is open to all senior cricketers, aged 14 and above. The coaching group really encourages as many of our players, current, past and new to attend from the first session on the 6th.

The aim of preseason training will be for the coaching group to help ALL players identify their own strengths and weaknesses. We will then aim to strengthen the strengths and eliminate the weaknesses that have been identified.

The coaching group is extremely keen to help everyone develop their own games, so come to training knowing what you think you need to improve on. Let’s make every training session a session you get something out of.

Lets continue to compete, lets continue to improve and of course have a heap of fun.

See you all on Sunday the 6th of August at 9am.

Cheers,
Daisy.

Dear members

We are very pleased to announce that Mr Scott Day has accepted the role of Surfers paradise Senior Coach for the 2017/18 Season.

Scott is level 2 qualified coach and has been involved with Cricket on the Gold Coast since 1994.

Throughout his playing days Scott was a Victorian under 21 representative player, played 1st grade for the Dolphins and in local cricket has been involved in four 1st grade grand finals.

This will be the sixth season that Scott has been involved with the Surfers Paradise Cricket Club and is looking forward to the challenge of developing all our players skills right through the grades.

Assisting Scott will be David McIntosh who was a member of our first grade side last season and will bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm both on and off the field.

The committee believes that we have the best structure and people within Gold Coast Cricket to ensure we continue to meet our goals of “Improve, Compete and have Fun”.

Scott and David will be working closely with the Director of Coaching, Chris Swan to assist in developing all our members skills form under 10’s to 1st Grade.

The season is not far away and I’m sure there will communication from Scott shortly about preseason training and the season ahead.

Best wishes and look forward to seeing all at training.

Sign on Day – 27th August 9am – 2pm at the clubhouse
