Junior Cricket
At Surfers Paradise Cricket Club, we love cricket, and our primary objective is to give the next generation the opportunity to develop a love of the game, just as we have.
Our Junior competitive program is open to boys and girls aged 10 to 16 (as at 1 September), with teams fielded across U10, U11, U12, U13, U15 Girls and U14-U17 Junior Open divisions.
The program is fun and active, with a strong emphasis on maximum participation and skill development, each year building on the foundations for lifelong involvement in the sport.
U10s matches are played Friday evenings from 6pm, either at our main home oval (Cambio Group Oval) or at Mudgeeraba-Nerang Districts Cricket Club, and run for 90 minutes. Games are played with a soft ball, and no pads, gloves or helmet are required, keeping the focus on fun and skill-building in a low-pressure environment.
U11 to U17s matches are played Saturday mornings from 8am, running for approximately 3 hours.
Every child gets an equal chance to bat, bowl and field, and both competition and training shirts are supplied.
